I think most importantly, it would give us the leverage to say “no”. To walk away from bad jobs and abusive managers. To refuse to work in unsafe environments. To demand better pay.
To demand better, because the options are no longer “suck it up” or “die”.

when I was in film school “film bros” were specifically a variety of mediocre man (usually cishet and white) with zero imagination that would just glom onto the most popular “auteur filmmakers” in the US, like Tarantino and the Coen Brothers and even Nolan, and poorly attempt to mimic these guys without any of the skill or craft knowledge to know what it even is that they’re truly trying to mimic. I mean, I suppose it’s always been a nebulous colloquial term but that’s basically how we as people in film always understood it. and seeing it be mutated into a pejorative for anyone with a deeper interest in film beyond trending Hollywood features is actually kind of shit. literally the opposite of what was being criticized.

There’s only two weak points to a corporation, and those are in the budget and in the supply chain. Hit them where it hurts.
I think if a studio exec says they want to force you to starve to death so you’ll be made to accept garbage wages, you should crush them in a hydraulic press incredibly slowly
Like the fact that rich people have gotten to the point where they think they can just be like “oh yeah I’m literally trying to kill you” without fear of repercussions is beyond infuriating. They need to know what it feels like to be beaten to death by hammers.
Strike is on. Actors will be joining the writers on the picket lines. This is the first strike in 60 years for SAG, and essentially shuts down the entire US film and television industry.
